ReportServer windows service starting and stopping

I'm having a problem with my subscriptions running because it looks like the
ReportServer windows service is stopping and starting. I get a message a few
times a day in the application log stating that the service is starting so
I'm assuming it is shutting down for some reason. Is there a way to stop
this? You need to look in the reportserverservice_<timestamp>.log file to try and
see why the service is restarting. It should not be doing that.

looks like it does 2 cleanup cycles and it stops. It looks like it will
start when I go to the report manager and stops after doing the cleanup. The
problem is that when a report is scheduled to run, the service doesn't
startup. so they don't run. Each log file ends with lines like:
y!108c!4/28/2005-09:18:49:: i INFO: Cleaned 0 batch records, 0 policies, 0

ReportServer Service stopping

I have the ReportServer service set to automatic, but on a daily basis it
seems to stop. This causes my report subscriptions to not fire. My log file

Yes, I searched first :)This is the web service log file and has no effect on subscriptions. You
should look at the reportserverservice_<datetime>.log file to see why the
service is stopping.

Reports won't attach in subscription email after sp2 installation

Hello,
I installed SP2 on one of the 2 reporting servers we have in our
environment. Before the SP installation, Subscriptions were able to send the
attached reports. Now the job reports an error. I set up the same
subscription and reports to the server not running SP2 (with identical
settings) and the report worked fine.
If I choose to send only a link, then it works. However, any time I try to
add an attachement, I get errors. Any Ideas? There are no specific errors
in the reportserver logs...
Please help!Do you have some Date fields in report ?
Or do you have changed the Default language for report ?

2003. No changes were required to the report services server.

Reports subscription

Hello to everyone!

I have a question. I need to create subscriptions for set of reports. I have a task to send it via e-mail but I need to be able to send not to e-mail but for user name from Global Address List or for whole groups. When I just type user name from that list I got an error that invalid e-mail. Is it possible to do it or I need to use e-mail?

Thanks,

You would need to use e-mail to send to email addresses. SQL RS can't talk to Outlook.

You could probably write a custom wrapper to convert user names / distribution lists to email addresses, and append to the subscription.

Alternatively you should be able to setup the subscriptions using a command line or script.

http://www.sqldbatips.com/showarticle.asp?ID=62 - Try RS Scripter to see examples of subscription scripts.

hope this helps!
