ReportViewer component and RS 2000

Hello,
could anybody please confirm, that the ReportViewer component (VS 2005,
ASP.NET 2.0) on a WebForm and a RS 2000 on the server side ARE NOT ABLE
TO COOPERATE?
From my IIS logs I see POSTs to "../ReportExcution2005.asmx", which is
obviously not present on a RS 2000 system.

A: No. In remote mode the ReportViewer control can only view reports hosted
on a SQL Server 2005 Report Server. Note that this has nothing to do with
where the data for the report can come from. Data for the report can come
from any source, including SQL Server 2000, Oracle, DB2 and non-database
datasources.
