The Report Server service is failing, almost on a daily basis.
Description:
The ReportServer service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 39
time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000
milliseconds: Restart the service.
Sometimes the service is unable to restart and I get the following error.
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the ReportServer service to connect.
Then I get ..
The ReportServer service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely
fashion.
Google returns nothing on how to troublshoot this problem,
Can someone please point me in the right direction on how to resolve this.
Your Help is much Apprieciated.I have the same problem and it is not memory or dasd on the server!
Not only that Visual Studio - hangs all the time in 2005 --
Reports that work perfectly - then migrated to 2005 do not work the same !
This is starting to become a waste of time joke!
Where are all of the MS people that touted RS 2005 - CAN WE HAVE SOME
ANSWERS - or to busy at trade shows?

are. I suggest taking one by one your issues and asking there. I haven't see
the issues but that is at least partly due to the fact I am not doing much
with graphs (reading your posts it seems like a lot has to do with that).
Same could be with VS. I never see it hang. Ever.

The EventLog is being logged with the following error.
The ReportServer service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 39
time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000
milliseconds: Restart the service.
Please note 39 in the number of times it was failed.
I would like to understand the general steps involved in the resolution of
this problem.
Hope you can help !

because of this you cant call MS and that's why DF is provided and still you
dont get any solutions, you can always log a call with MS.
Coming to your problem, why dont you install your patch again or may be try
to see what you have installed recently in your NT.there may be a clash with
SSRS. If possible, you read it right "If Possible". try installing SSRS again.
