reporting software for end users

Any suggestions for a ad hoc reporting software for end users?
Back end is sql server 2k.

I'm always cautious when it comes to ad-hoc queries against a SQL Server. A
Bad query can impact performance.
Have you looked at SQL Server Reporting Services? Not really ad-hoc, but
some powerful stuff.
Or use Access. Just make sure the user only has select access, nothing
else.
